The eye, as a result of the psychic operations involved in perception, filters and delimits a portion of reality. The landscape-image is a cutout that responds to the visual operation of selecting. From the perspective of art and design, this operation is associated with photography, insofar as it captures and fixes a limit, delineating a scene.

The term to site (emplazar) is proposed as the action that enables situating the body in a determined space. In this case, diverse frames are selected (from satellite images in Google Earth) of the five geographic study area. In this way, the hand re-draws an image, marks, selects, establishes contours, and translates geography into graphic codes and black-and-white linear drawings, subsequently establishing a connection with the localization process proposed in geography.

Thus, from a design perspective, to site  means determining an area or a study surface, mapping and cadastrying geomorphological units through the trace of the hand.

In the discipline of geography, to locate refers to the precise positioning of a point or entity on the Earth’s surface, using a system of geographic coordinates. This spatial positioning process, called “georeferencing”, is a first step in spatial object analysis, since it links information to a specific geographic location and extension.
